Pensions Regulator gets tough on auto enrolment pensions

Employers of all sizes need to make sure their auto enrolment pension responsibilities are up to date to avoid punitive fines from The Pensions Regulator, particularly in the case of mergers and acquisitions, and new start-up, warns Simon Oakes, barrister at Outer Temple Chambers

The Pensions Regulator has been making a list, and checking it twice, of which employers have been naughty and nice. Especially those who have been naughty. It has been stepping up its enforcement action against employers who fail to comply with their duties to automatically enrol employees in pension schemes. 

As well as handing out further penalties to employers who do not comply, the Regulator has begun publicly naming and shaming.
