David Childs, managing partner of law firm Clifford Chance, is to be the new chair of the Financial Reporting Council's conduct committee from 1 May 2014 when the current chair, Richard Fleck, steps down. Fleck is staying on as chairman of the Financial Reporting Review Panel (FRRP) until the end of 2014.

The Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT) has appointed Ralph Pettengell to serve as the organisation's new vice president from April 2014. He is the managing partner of IFA Consulting, a provider of training and other services to independent financial advisers and financial service product providers. Current ATT deputy president, Natalie Miller, becomes president succeeding Yvette Nunn, and her role will be filled by the current vice president, Michael Steed.

Stephen Frost, who was responsible for making London 2012 the most diverse Olympic Games ever held, is to be KPMG's new head of diversity and inclusion. He previously held a senior role at the LGBT organisation Stonewall and has been visiting fellow at Harvard University on the women and public policy programme, during which time he also wrote a book, The Inclusion Imperative.

Johnston Carmichael, Scotland's largest independent firm of accountants and business advisers, has appointed Susie Walker as a partner and the firm's new head of tax. Walker has spent 20 years heading up the group tax functions of a number of major banks, becoming group tax director for Lloyds Banking Group in 2009.
