The International Federation of Accountants has promoted two senior staff to lead its quality and member relations initiatives focused on enhancing the capacity of the professions and addressing the needs of audit practices around the world. They are Russell Guthrie, who becomes executive director of quality and member relations, and Sylvia Barrett, who will be director. PricewaterhouseCoopers has recruited David Kenmir to join its UK financial services regulatory practice. He joins PwC form the Financial Services Authority and has 20 years' regulatory, senior management and change management experience from his career at the FSA and its predecessors. Intertek Group, a provider of quality and safety services, has appointed Lloyd Pitchford as group chief financial officer. For the past five years he has had the same position at energy giant BG Group. Pitchford takes over from Bill Spencer, who retires at the end of March after 18 years with the group. David Alexander, director of forensic services at Smith & Willliamson, has been re-elected as president of the UK chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. With over 50,000 members worldwide, the ACFE administers the Certified Fraud Examiner designation. Gavin Hill has been appointed finance director at health outsourcing services provider Synergy. He takes up his new position on 26 April after Ivan Jacques retires from the role. Hill is currently corporate finance director of Serco and has held finance roles at Syngenta and AstraZeneca. Stephen Boyd has been taken on as finance director at bakery group Finsbury Food. His most recent role was with Food Investors and has worked Finsbury chief executive John Duffy at Golden Wonder. Jonathan Dutton has been appointed the first finance director for the Olympic Park Legacy Company, which will look after the East London park's development following the 2012 games. He was previously chief executive at charity Oasis UK. Software group Formjet has appointed Peter Joy as its new group finance director. He was previously finance director at investment bank Astaire Group and is currently a director at Coventry Climax Engines.
