Scottish firm French Duncan has beefed up its management team. Craig Reid joins as senior manager in its entrepreneurial services division. Having trained with a top 10  firm, Reid has experience of SME business sector. Kenny Stevenson joins as wealth manager at French Duncan Financial Services. He began his career as a stockbroker and financial adviser with Edward Jones before joining Towry as a financial planner and wealth manager and has also worked for  Royal Bank of Scotland as a senior business financial planning manager. 

Hornbuckle, the self-invested pension provider, has appointed Vincent Cambonie as its new chief financial officer, replacing George McGrady who is stepping down after five years. Cambonie’s career spans 25 years of working in global financial institutions, most recently as managing director and group CFO at BNP Paribas Investment Partners. He has also held various international senior finance positions at Instinet, Merrill Lynch and KPMG.

Aidan Bocci, CEO and founder of Commercial Advantage, and Patrick Wenckebach, COO at the firm, a growth strategy consultancy focused on the global consumer packaged goods sector, are to establish and lead a new KPMG consumer goods growth strategy team, which will work with both KPMG’s consumer markets practice and global strategy group.

Russell Brennan Keane (RBK) has hired 16 graduate trainees who will be based across its Dublin, Athlone and Roscommon offices and are all business graduates from NUI Galway, University College Cork (UCC), University of Limerick (UL), NUI Maynooth, Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), and Athlone Institute of Technology. 

Bradford-based Watson Buckle has promoted Freda Akram and Sandra Robinson to the position of business services manager. Akram has been with the firm for ten years, having joined as a senior accountant. She works with a number of clients including sole traders, limited companies and charities. Robinson joined during the merger with Paul T Spivey Ltd in April 2015 and has more than 14 years’ experience in industry as well as ten years’ experience in practice.

Amanda Clack has joined EY as the head of infrastructure within its advisory practice for UK & Ireland. She was previously a partner at PwC  for over nine years leading the firm’s South-East consultancy business, and has extensive experience in infrastructure, construction and real estate both at a global and UK level. 

Sussex-based Russell New has appointed Charlie Owen as associate partner. Owen, who joins from Redhill-based Vista Partners, and has also previously worked at Spofforths and Deloitte, has 18 years’ experience advising professional service firms, owner-managed businesses, UK operations of overseas businesses and high net worth individuals on a wide variety of tax issues. 

PwC has strengthened its financial restructuring offering to corporates with the appointment of a new partner. Alistair Dick joins from Rothschild and will lead PwC’s corporate financial restructuring team.  He was most recently head of Rothschild’s debt advisory and restructuring practice in South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand and has also spent over six years in Rothschild’s European debt advisory and restructuring team based in London and has a background in natural resources project finance and acquisition finance.

Nine accountancy trainees have joined the ranks of East Midlands-based chartered accountants Duncan & Toplis and will be starting ACA and AAT qualifications: Cameron Hoggan, Thomas Lindsay, William Wright, Rebecca Griggs Haydn Yeates, Jordan Owen, Charles Baird, Charlotte Hackney , and Anna-Maria Caswell.

The latest appointments at the accounting regulator include two former Big Four heavyweights and a GSK audit chief. David Cannon, Helen Jones and Sean Collins are to join the conduct committee of the Financial Reporting Council (FRC). Cannon, who also joins the monitoring committee, is a former managing partner of EY’s London financial services office. He went on to be CFO for Deutschebank's global investment bank and is currently a non-executive director of Morgan Stanley's European business where he chairs the regional audit committee. Collins had a long career at partner level at KPMG, followed by three years as senior independent director and audit committee chairman of Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, and is currently audit committee chairman for Jersey Telecom and Crown Representative at the Cabinet Office. Jones is SVP head of audit and assurance at GlaxoSmithKline, having previously held a number of roles at Reuters Group, ultimately becoming global head of tax and treasury.

Tax planning and investment specialist OneE Group has promoted Gwilym Davies to business development director. With 11 years’ experience, Davies joined the company as a business development manager in 2010.

FTI Consulting has appointed three new senior managing directors to its growing EMEA corporate finance practice. John Maloney joins the operational transformation team from AlixPartners, where he led the organisation design and efficiency practice and was co-leader of the life science practice in Europe. Manish Shah joins the transaction services group, and was previously a senior corporate finance partner with Deloitte in London. Euan Sutherland joins the European tax advisory team with a specific focus on real estate. He previously worked for Deloitte, where he led a number of the firm’s key UK tax relationships and advised in particular on distressed real estate.
