KPMG has appointed Richard Turnbull as public sector tax partner at their Birmingham office.  Turnbull joined from Deloitte where he was an indirect tax partner. At KPMG, he will focus on the issues facing the wider public sector including health, education, housing and local government, leading the firm’s tax advice on these matters in the Midlands.

Janet Dawson has been appointed as EY’s global and UK&I government and public sector assurance practice leader. As leader she will chief 2,600 employees globally and 220 professionals in the UK&I who audit the financial and non-financial performance of government and public sector organisations. Previously, she has worked for PwC’s UK health team and was involved with NHS England on the introduction of clinical commissioning groups.

Russell Cook has joined Smith & Williamson as a director in the corporate finance team. He has previously worked in a range of corporate finance teams such as Panmure Gordon, Charles Stanley Securities, Teather & Greenwood and Morgan Grenfell Securities.

The Board of Directors of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) has appointed Monica Ellis as secretary general beginning on 1 January 2017 for a five-year term. She succeeds Peter Dittus who has been secretary general since 2005 but has now retired.

Sarah Nightingale has been promoted to operations director for Self-Invested Personal Pensions (SIPP) at Rowanmoor Group plc. As SIPP Operations Director, Sarah is responsible for Rowanmoor Pensions SIPP and Family Pension Trust administration.
