Partners from Grant Thornton UK and GT Société d’Avocats France have been appointed to the European Commission's Joint Transfer Pricing Forum (JTPF) including representatives from the 28 EU member states and 18 representatives from the business community. The network of Grant Thornton member firms will be represented by Chaid Dali-Ali, partner at Grant Thornton Société d'Avocats France (appointed representative) and Wendy Nicholls, partner at GT UK (alternate representative).The first meeting of the newly mandated JTPF will be on 25 June 2015.
The International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) has undergone a reorganisation, with both the roles of executive director and technical director being made redundant as these permanent roles have been abolished. This will see Marianne Tissier and Chris Thorne leave the body.
The IVSC is now using seconded resources and has confirmed that Nick Talbot, of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has taken up the role of interim CEO on a part time basis, supported by Alexander Aronsohn, RICS, and Ken Creighton, RICS. Adam Smith, PwC, will be based in the US and will work half time on IVSC matters in the area of business valuations and help structure the approach to standards and guidance. Mary Jane Andrews, retiring partner of KPMG, Canada, will continue in the meantime as adviser to the professional board.
EY has today appointed a new partner, Chris Gould, to head up its cybercrime team in the UK. Gould has over 25 years’ experience working with clients across a variety of sectors in Russia, Central and Eastern Europe, the US and the UK. Prior to joining EY, he led PwC’s cyber security practice in central and eastern Europe.
PwC continues to expand its pensions investment advisory business with the appointment of Nikesh Patel, who joins from BlackRock, where he managed the relationships with some of BlackRock’s largest institutional pension fund clients. In his new role, Patel will advise corporate sponsors and trustees on risk and investment strategies for their defined benefit pension funds.
