Shaw Gibbs merges with Hampshire accountants

Private equity backed Shaw Gibbs has merged with Martin and Company Accountants, expanding services for farming and agricultural clients

This the sixth merger/acquisition made by Shaw Gibbs in the last 12 months, as the firm looks to strengthen its business advisory and accountancy group.

Martin and Company was set up in 2009 and has three offices across Hampshire in Winchester, Thame, and Liss, and a strong client base in the farming and agricultural sector, landed estates and private customers.

Head of the firm and partner Seamus McLaughlin will remain with the firm as a partner, while 76 staff and a further eight partners will join the merged practice. Martin and Company reported reserves of £3.5m in the latest accounts for year end March 2023 at Companies House.

There are no plans to rebrand as Shaw Gibbs at present, they will operate under the same name with the strap line ‘Part of the Shaw Gibbs Group’.
