Simplification of transfer pricing rules will go ahead

The government is proposing changes to transfer pricing legislation to make the rules simpler and the diverted profits tax will become part of the corporation tax annual return

The changes will affect both the core transfer pricing rules and their implementation in other parts of tax law. Draft legislation will be issued in due course as well as detailed guidance.

The move comes as the government acknowledged that UK:UK transfer pricing places a compliance burden on taxpayers, and that this must be balanced with protection of the UK tax base.

The requirement to apply transfer pricing between UK entities in situations where the UK tax base is not disadvantaged will be relaxed.
