Sumer expands east of England hub in Moore Thompson deal

Private equity backed Sumer acquires Moore Thompson, expanding presence in the east of England with 100 staff and partners joining group

The deal expands Sumer’s presence across an ‘important regional corridor’ for the group and strengthens the support offered to agricultural and rural businesses; sectors that sit at the heart of many local communities.

Moore Thompson has 10 partners, led by managing partner Mark Hildred, and all will be staying with the business, as well as around 100 staff. It has a century long heritage advising SMEs, family-run businesses and charities, as well as a strong agricultural client base, adding further depth to one of Sumer’s core sector specialisms.

The firm will continue to operate out of its five offices in the region, located in Peterborough, Market Deeping, Spalding, Stamford and Wisbech.
