Digital tax accounts consultation delayed until after June referendum

HMRC is to delay the consultations on the technical details for the rollout of digital tax accounts and quarterly reporting until after the referendum on 23 June despite plans to start beta testing on quarterly reporting this July.

The tax authority has confirmed that the purdah period up until the EU referendum means that the various consultations expected around digital tax accounts will not be released until late June at the earliest.
