US online integrated reporting community launched

Business leaders in the US have formed an integrated reporting working group under the auspices of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) in a bid to drive adoption of the approach,  by building a community and helping to form strategies to make integrated reporting mainstream

Members of the group include US companies, investor representatives, accounting firms, academics and other senior representatives of the reporting field.

Its website contains resources for companies and investors, tailored to the US market and plans to hold monthly webinars to inform stakeholders of latest developments and to build understanding. The site was created and is managed by Smarter-Companies in collaboration with the IIRC’s US lead.

In the first webinar, Sandy Nessing, American Electric Power, presented a guided tour of their 2017 Corporate Accountability Report, followed by a discussion about their experience with their reports including what has worked, what they have learned and what they would recommend to others on the integrated reporting journey.

At the next webinar on 13 December 2017, Prudential Financial - which has been part of the IIRC since it was established - will share insights on the process and results the company has seen from its integrated approach.

The integrated reporting US community website is here.
