What to do if HMRC launches an R&D tax enquiry

Most companies making an R&D tax relief claim are likely to get an HMRC compliance check at some stage so it’s essential to be prepared. Richard Edwards, CEO of the R&D Community explains how to prepare for the worst

Historically, compliance checks into research and development (R&D) tax relief claims were considered to be rare occurrences, usually linked to a clear error within a claim.
