Wylie & Bisset signs joint venture with Opulus Financial

Accountancy firm Wylie & Bisset has agreed a partnership deal with Opulus Financial to expand its accountancy services and outsourced chief financial officer (CFO) offering in Scotland

The deal will see Opulus and Wylie & Bisset working together on projects, effectively bringing the total headcount to 160 employees, with combined revenues expected to be £11m, up from £7m. Wylie & Bisset was founded in 1787 and has offices in Glasgow, Oban and Manchester.

Opulus is a joint venture between founder Matthew Garstang and investment and advisory partnership N4 Partners, and the firm was set up in 2020.

The deal was funded by backer SME Capital which has set aside a £10m growth capital facility to support further expansion plans of the enlarged group.

The value of the deal has not been disclosed.
