A 26-year-old accountant has been jailed for two years after siphoning £470,000 from her employer to fund her lavish lifestyle. Joanne Kent from Staffordshire appeared before Wolverhampton Crown Court, which heard details of her 37 frauds against her employer and how she was found out, despite her attempts to cover her tracks by deleting computer records, the Press Association reports. Kent had earlier pleaded guilty to theft and fraud against her employer Wilson UK, which manufactures equipment for the oil industry. Between June 2005 and April 2007, Kent - who initially joined the accounts department at Wilson and later worked her way up to team leader - diverted creditor monies to her own bank accounts. She spent £50,000 on a wedding, and told friends she had bought a £48,000 Mazda and a £30,000 Audi. The fraud was spotted when she created a false invoice relating to an American company in pounds rather than dollars.
