Apostle Accounting pulled the plug in October 2023 after the two directors, Martin Goodchild and Zoe Goodchild, called in administrators after months of disquiet from customers, which culminated in an investigation by Suffolk Police, and the involvement of a group of MPs led by Jo Churchill, MP for Bury St Edmunds, on behalf of local constituents who were customers of the firm.

Last week, police raided two residential properties and a commercial unit in Stowmarket, and an office in Petersborough, with documents and digital devices seized for further examination.

The searches were part of an investigation into fraud led by the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU).
