Baker Tilly plans North West expansion

Baker Tilly has opened a new office in Preston, which the firm has identified as a strategic location in the centre of Lancashire, and announced plans to double its business in the area

Nine partners and around 200 staff are now based in new 20,000 sq ft office premises at Bluebell House, close to Junction 31a of the M6. They include staff from the former RSM Tenon office in Chorley, following Baker Tilly’s takeover of the firm last year, supplemented with some transfers from other Baker Tilly offices.

Jill Jones, Baker Tilly’s North West regional managing partner said: ‘We will be one of the few firms in the area to offer a full range of audit, accountancy, tax, corporate finance, restructuring and business advisory services.  We see great potential for Lancashire and we plan to double the size of our current business in the region over the next three years.’

A Baker Tilly spokesman said there had been no compulsory redundancies as a direct result of the move and the support services such as IT and HR have been unaffected.

The firm’s other offices in the North West include Manchester, Liverpool, Chester, Warrington and Stoke.
