Finance director Beverley Dew hired at Kier Group, Dow Schofield Watts names Kate Beckett as a partner and Clough & Company boosts its audit team
PwC has appointed Bradley Phillips as an asset management tax director. Phillips has nearly 25 years of experience in tax and joins from Herbert Smith Freehills where he was a tax partner mainly focussed on M&A and other corporate transactions, tax disputes and investment funds. He currently sits on the LexisNexis Tax Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) Board and was previously chair of the City of London Law Society Revenue Law Committee.
Former Baker Tilly corporate finance director Tom Gallop has joined Cambridge accountancy firm Ashcroft Anthony as corporate finance partner. Gallop has spent the last five years with Baker Tilly in the East of England. Prior to that, he was with Deloitte in Cambridge and London.
Construction and property specialist Kier Group has appointed Beverley Dew as its finance director. Dew joins from Balfour Beatty, where he was the FD of the regional construction business in the UK. He was previously the CFO of the UK and CEMEA engineering and construction businesses at Lend Lease, and has also held senior roles at Redrow Group and Invensys Rail. Kier's previous Group Finance Director Haydn Mursell has been appointed as chief executive.
KPMG has promoted James Ledward to partner in its Reading team. Ledward has been with the firm for 16 years and advises a wide range of companies in the Thames Valley, from owner-managed businesses to listed overseas groups. He specialises in providing external and internal audit advice and advises clients buying and selling businesses on their transactions.
Dow Schofield Watts has appointed Kate Beckett as a partner to its forensic team based in Leeds. Beckett joins from Deloitte and will be providing advisory, dispute and investigation services at the firm, which has offices in the North West and North East of England.
West Yorkshire firm Clough & Company has expanded its team with six new appointments. Sam Batch joins Clough Management Services as a management accountant, while the firm’s audit division has recruited Wei Song as an audit senior and Thomas Conway as an audit assistant. Bethany Naylor has a place as a trainee chartered accountant after graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University and Rebecca Dixon joins the firm on a 12-month placement from Leeds University where she is studying for a maths degree. Lottie Smith has been appointed as a client administrator.
