Croydon based SPAC Nation, registered as Salvation Proclaimers Ministries Limited, was run by pastor Tobi Adeboyega and has been removed from the charity register while all three trustees have been banned for 12 years by the Charity Commission.
SPAC Nation was registered as a charity in 2013 and held religious services at various venues in London, primarily at a location on Purley Way in Croydon, as well as organising community and outreach events.
In December 2019 the Charity Commission launched an investigation and found that the charity’s trustees were responsible for serious misconduct over safeguarding practices and financial failures over a substantial period of time.
Investigators found that the charity’s financial record keeping was inadequate, including for payments that could have posed a reputational risk to the charity. In one year alone £1.17m was raised in cash donations according to records on the charity register.
