Independently owned Cooper Accountancy acquires Pink Pig Financials as founder sells firm to focus on new venture
The deal marks a significant expansion for Essex based Cooper Accountancy, which was only set up in 2024 by Susan Perry and specialises in supporting small and micro-sized businesses. The merger will double the size of the firm, adding a broader nationwide client base and bringing the staff count to 12.
Pink Pig Financials was founded by chartered accountant Cheryl Sharp (pictured) in 2014 and has a nationwide client base, taking a personal approach to accounting. Five staff will remain with the merged business, which has been rebranded.
Sharp sold her firm to concentrate on a new venture as a domestic abuse workplace consultant, working in a critical area to help workplaces support victims of domestic abuse through workplace training, policy and guidance.
Perry, founder and director of Cooper Accountancy, is leading the transition and remains at the helm, bringing more than 25 years of accounting and business advisory experience. She is a fellow member of the Institute of Financial Accountants and has built a reputation for providing practical, relationship-led advice that helps businesses thrive.
Perry described the move as an ‘exciting new chapter’, adding the deal means ‘the company has more than doubled in size’, stressing its ‘core values remain at the very heart as a small, personable firm working closely with business owners to help them achieve their goals’.
Bringing the teams together means that clients will benefit from access to a broader range of expertise, resources and opportunities along with the continuity of still dealing with their relationship manager.
Perry added: ‘By combining the strengths, expertise and values of both firms, we are creating a stronger business while remaining true to the personalised approach that our clients have come to know and value.
‘The acquisition allows us to expand our reach and expertise while preserving the individual touch that has always been central to how we work.
‘We’re excited about the future and look forward to supporting our clients as we continue to expand the business.’
