Online filing now mandatory

Employers who have not yet registered to file their 2009/10 end-of-year returns online (deadline 19 May) should do so as soon as possible. Online filing is now mandatory for employers of all sizes and registration with HM Revenue & Customs is not an instant process.

Employer’s CD-ROM errors

As last year, but without the German children’s stories, the first edition of HMRC’s employer’s CD-ROM for 2010 has been found to contain errors. These are described at http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/employers/cdrom/download-update.htm. The 2010 disk can also cause problems with using the 2009 CD.
