Finance Mole: no-one warned me about Bitcoin

Finally shot of his old job, Finance Mole is cornered on his first day by a bunch of Bitcoin evangelists plus, accountants and advisers still have a job when it comes to Making Tax Digital, FCA head warns about cryptocurrencies

So, after the tedium of a three‑month notice period ended with the brief excitement of leaving drinks it was on to a new job. Starting a new job is always tricky. I was happy to be there and had no regrets at leaving the last job, but the first few weeks are, well, hard.

Basically you don’t really know anything, it is impossible to learn everyone’s name and you have to find out what the problem was that they had to bring in someone from outside to deal with in the first place.

The sorting out bit was fine. After all, no mess equals no job in the first place. And with time, names and secrets are learned, and eventually, dare I say it, value is added. It would just be nice if you could fast forward the first three months or so and get straight to the business end.
