FRC sets out guidance on climate reporting under FRS 102

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has published a factsheet which details what climate-related matters need to be considered when preparing financial statements and associated narrative reporting under FRS 102

The FRC factsheet is part of a series that accompanies the FRS 102: The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (2018) accounting rules and is designed to provide an introduction to climate change reporting.

This is a response to the commitments made in recent FRC publications, including the Climate Thematic and the Statement of Intent on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) challenges, which emphasised that preparers need to consider the impact of climate-related matters on the financial statements as well as on narrative reporting.
