Critchleys senior partner Robert Kirkland will continue to run the firm, which will be badged as ‘part of Gravita’ and will retain its own name. It will also continue to operate out of central Oxford, based in the new office it moved to in June 2024.

The firm was set up in 1906 and has five partners and over 80 staff, and reported revenue of £8.34m revenue for year end 30 April 2023, up 18% on the previous year. Profits increased from £2.09m to £3.16m. The firm has over 1,000 clients and specialises in charities, education and SMEs.

The partnership means Critchleys will benefit from Gravita’s tech-enabled approach as regulatory and compliance obligations increase, enabling the firm to focus on providing hands-on advisory and consultancy services. Gravita’s expertise in listed markets, and specialist areas in tax and compliance, will now support growth businesses across the Thames Valley.
