Snyder has been a partner at the firm, ranked at number 18 in the Accountancy league table, for 42 years and has led the firm for 37 years, first as managing partner and from 1990 also as senior partner.

Incoming senior partner Martin Muirhead said Snyder’s ‘leadership of our firm has been inspiring and he will be much missed.’

‘He has been passionate about client service, nurturing talent in our own people and growing our firm.  He has also been very active in his support for SMEs, advising government over an extended period and chairing the government’s Professional and Business Services Council where he championed the value and quality of this sector. 

‘He also serves the City of London where he was the chairman of policy and resources, effectively the leader, for over five years,’ Muirhead said.

Snyder said: ‘I have worked with Martin for many years and I know that I am leaving our clients, people and the business in good hands. I am confident that the firm will continue to build on its success and is poised for future growth.’

Muirhead has been a Kingston Smith partner for over 25 years and is a member of the executive board. He currently leads the Kingston Smith property sector and has over 30 years of experience in advising clients. He is chairman of the ETM Group of restaurants and bars and is active within the profession.

Muirhead said: ‘I am looking forward to taking on the role of senior partner and leading our talented team as we continue to implement our five-year firm wide growth strategy.
