Scott-Moncrieff names two partners, Bradley joins Berwin Leighton Paisner tax litigation team and new directors head for Thames Valley based James Cowper
Scott-Moncrieff has announced the appointment of two new partners, bringing the firm’s total to 16. Morag Watson, who has been with the firm for nine years, specialises in personal tax, high net worth individuals, partnerships, trusts and landed estates. Pamela Coyne has been appointed as a corporate recovery partner, to grow Scott-Moncrieff’s corporate recovery practice in Scotland as well as expanding the firm’s national presence through its membership of the Moore Stephens network.
Elizabeth Bradley has been appointed as the new head of corporate tax at law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP). Bradley who was made partner in 2008, advises in all areas of corporate taxation both in the UK and on cross-border transactions, with particular specialism in real estate tax.
Nicola May joins Crowe Clark Whitehill as a partner in the firm’s not for profit team from KPMG, where she was head of charities. With a background in the charity and higher education sectors that stretches back 15 years, Nicola is also a member of the ICAEW charity technical sub committee and spent seven years as a member of the ICAEW’s charity and voluntary sector group committee.
Thames Valley and South Coast accountants James Cowper has promoted two new directors. Sarah Robert is head of James Cowper’s expatriate services, while Stuart Williams is part of the team in the firm’s corporate finance practice.
An experienced and respected banking professional has joined one of the Midlands’ largest independent accountancy firms to further strengthen its expanding banking and finance team. Graham Collins has been appointed associate director of banking and finance at Baldwins Accountants in the Midlands. He previously worked for Lloyds Bank for nearly four decades, most recently as a regional manager in the bank’s invoice finance division. He will work with Bladwin director of banking Martyn Shakespear.
KPMG has appointed Neill Thomas as head of corporate finance and Andrew Nicholson as head of M&A. The pair will replace Richard Clarke, who held both roles before recently being appointed to take up a new position as head of investment management within the firm’s financial services practice.
Thomas will continue as KPMG’s global head of capital advisory. He was previously head of KPMG’s UK debt advisory business. Prior to joining the firm in 2001, Thomas worked for 15 years for Schroders. Nicholson joined KPMG eight years ago from Rothschild, and has since built KPMG’s dedicated healthcare M&A team.
In addition, Jonathan White becomes KPMG’s UK head of valuations, taking over from Doug McPhee, who continues as global head of valuations.
Asset management company Dominvs Group has appointed Martin Sidders as CFO. He was previously finance director at Fairview New Homes and has also held senior positions at West Properties and at Dixons Carphone, where over a 15-year period he was group taxation director, director of tax and treasury, group financial controller and a member of the senior management team.
