The National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) has appointed Helen Roberts to lead its work on investment issues. Roberts joined the NAPF from F&C Asset Management, where she was head of government bonds. Previously, she was head of UK gilt and inflation-linked bonds at Hermes Investment Management.

FRP Advisory has beefed up its North West team with the appointment of Ben Woolrych as partner. He joins from Baker Tilly LLP where he was a director in the restructuring team.

Robert Khuzami is to leave the US Securities & Exchange Commission where he has been enforcement director for the past four years. During Khuzami's tenure, the enforcement division filed scores of significant actions connected to the financial crisis and brought record numbers of cases involving insider trading and misconduct by investment advisers and investment companies. He will leave the SEC at the end of January but has not confirmed his next move. SEC has not named a replacement enforcer.

Lancashire County Cricket Club has appointed chartered accountant Les Platts to its board of directors. He is also a non-executive director at AJ Bell, an investment and pensions business, and Leeds Building Society. Platts spent 30 years with Deloitte, working as an audit partner and practice senior partner.

Planit Services, a firm offering specialist accounting services to freelancers and contactors, has appointed Garry Keith as sales and marketing director. Previously business development manager at Planit, he has 25 years' experience in sales management in the financial services sector.

Alex Short, finance director of AG Barr, the IRN-Bru manufacturer, has been named non-executive director of five-a-side football company, Goals Soccer Centres.
