BDO has continued its investment in audit quality with the hire of two partners in its financial services team. James Billingham and Tim Lawrence have joined the London office with a wealth of experience in the audit of entities in the financial services sector. They will be focused on the audit of banking, alternative finance, and related entities. Billingham joins from EY where he was a partner and Lawrence was a director at PwC.

RSM UK has appointed Jill Kaur as partner in the national private client tax team. She has over 25 years’ experience advising high and ultra-high net worth individuals, non-doms and owner managed businesses on complex tax matters including international tax affairs and multi-generational wealth. Kaur joins RSM’s Birmingham office from tax dispute law firm Joseph Hage Aaronson LLP and has previous experience across the Big Four and mid-tier accountancy firms.

PwC has appointed Alastair Carmichael as senior adviser in the real estate debt & capital advisory team. He joins PwC from real estate firm HB Titan where he was a real estate investor. Previously, he led the debt and capital advisory team at Avison Young. He brings over 15 years’ real estate debt experience. At PwC, Carmichael will support the debt & capital advisory practice and further strengthen its capacity and capability in the real estate debt market due to client demand.

Dow Schofield Watts has expanded its corporate finance team in Yorkshire and the north east with the appointment of Harry Martin as an associate. He will be based at the firm’s Leeds office and joins from PwC, where he spent almost four years in the audit department and qualified as a chartered accountant.

Shaw Gibbs has appointed Sharmini Woodings as regional managing partner for the Surrey/Hampshire region. In her new role, she will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s operations, client relationships, and business development efforts within the region. Woodings has a background in accounting and business advisory services and was managing partner at Wise & Co until it was sold to Shaw Gibbs in 2023. This followed a career at HMRC.

Accountancy network CLA Global has appointed Dr Andreas Blum, managing partner at dhpg as a member of the board. He is an auditor and tax consultant at dhpg, responsible for the development of IT and digital services. Blum joined dhpg in 2008, serving as a senior partner since 2010 and was made managing partner this year.

DMN Group has appointed Linda Mitchell as business development manager for its fleet services division. She has a wealth of experience in the remarketing, fleet, and logistics industry, including car auctions and logistics. Mitchell was previously at VMoves Fleet Solutions.
