In the latest career moves, Kingston Smith appoints partners, promotions at Mitchell Charlesworth and CFO hire at Advanced Computer Software Group
Kingston Smith has strengthened its corporate finance and not for profit sector offering by appointing two new partners. John Cowie, corporate finance partner, has a focus on small and medium sized businesses and has extensive experience working with AIM-listed companies. Luke Holt strategically advises clients such as charities, further education colleges, higher education universities and private providers, independent schools and housing associations.
North West accountancy firm Mitchell Charlesworth has announced three promotions for home-grown talent across its audit and advisory teams. Mike Buxton and Adam McGowan, who are based at the Liverpool office have become partners. Buxton joined the firm as a trainee in 1999 and has been tasked with leading the practice’s professional service offering on compliance and advisory matters with direct responsibility for the solicitor portfolio in Liverpool and Chester since 2010. McGowan joined in 1998 and has progressed through the accounts and audit department as well as gaining experience assisting SMEs in a variety of sectors. In addition, Paul Richards who is based at the Warrington office has been promoted to associate.
UK software provider, Advanced Computer Software Group has appointed Andrew Hicks as chief financial officer (CFO), replacing former CFO, Guy Millward. Hicks joins the group with 15 years’ experience in the software sector, where he has served in senior finance roles in public and private equity backed firms both in the UK and US, including Advanced’s sister company, financial services software provider, Misys. He has also served as CFO at Turaz, which was formed from the assets of Thomson Reuters’ trade and risk management software business unit based in the UK, and at Kewill, a global leader in multimodal transportation management and supply chain solutions.
