Accounting firm Prager Metis LLP has merged with Smallfield Cody & Co, a specialist firm based in London, which focuses on providing services to UK media and entertainment clients

The merger will see Smallfield Cody’s director Michael Kennedy, a chartered accountant and consultant Margaret Cody move to Prager Metis, which has annual fee income of £1.8m and offices in Europe, North America and Asia.

Smallfield Cody’s revenue is not disclosed under micro entity accounts filing. Based in the West End of London for over 35 years, Smallfield Cody & Co is a general accountancy and taxation practice specialising in the entertainment and media industries.

‘We are very excited about the addition of Margaret and Michael,’ says Austin Jacobs, partner of the Prager Metis London office.  ‘We wanted to expand by strengthening our entertainment practice in London. Margaret and Michael bring a tremendous breadth and depth of experience and knowledge as well as a shared value of hands-on client service. It is the perfect fit.’

‘We are delighted to be joining forces with Prager Metis. Although somewhat larger than us they have a very similar client base and ethos, and have specialised and substantial technical resources. By combining with the London and US offices of Prager Metis, we are now able to provide additional depth and scale that will enhance the services which we provide,” says Kennedy.

The merger officially took place on 19 December 2017.
