Sustainability standards due by June

Plans to release the first global sustainability standards for companies are on schedule for release by the end of June 2023

The International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) is making good progress on plans to issue their first two standards towards the end of Q2 2023.

At the January board meeting, the ISSB discussed the proposed objective of the metrics and targets disclosures in draft IFRS S1 and draft IFRS S2.

The ISSB tentatively decided to clarify that the objective is to require an entity to disclose information about both the metrics the entity uses to measure, monitor and manage sustainability-related risks and opportunities; and the metrics required by IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards.
