Tax relief: game over?

Government proposals to introduce tax relief for video games faces state aid obstacles at European Commission level, says Stephen Relf

Video games tax relief has hit a glitch. Back in April, the European Commission announced that it had opened an in-depth investigation into the relief, meaning that state aid approval hangs in the balance. At best, there will be a long period of uncertainty (perhaps up to a year); at worst, no additional relief at all.
