Third of public sector audits need improvement, says FRC

The quality of public sector audits has improved in the last year despite the fact that a third still required improvements

The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) has published the latest inspection findings into the quality of major local body audits in England, which included large health and local government bodies.

The ongoing problem with the lateness of local body audits remains critical with 91% of audits missing the deadline and filing late.
