Topps Tiles swaps auditor PwC for Mazars

FTSE listed Topps Tiles has dropped PwC as auditor after a competitive tender where Mazars came in with a lower price

Mazars LLP has been appointed as auditors of the listed tiling giant, replacing Big Four firm PwC, who had been auditor since 2018.

In a statement to shareholders, Helen Evans, company secretary at Topps Tiles said: ‘The reason PwC are ceasing to hold office is due to the company appointing another firm of auditors at a lower fee than PwC charged for its audit for the 52-week period ended 01 October 2022.’

This followed an internal review at Topps Tiles where the decision was taken to appoint the mid-tier firm. This has been approved by the majority of shareholders at the recent annual general meeting.
