on the recent ACA Case Study exam and examiners’ report
Having seen the ACA Case Study exam from the other side of the
fence in 2011 as a tutor, after being the senior examiner for 12 years,
it seems clear that candidates who fail this exam do so for a reason.
Of course, there is no single reason that covers all failing candidates,
and some fail for a number of reasons, but there are common themes.
What are they?
Overall quality of the script
The examiners say that they were not looking for perfection,
but passing scripts must be good enough in all four elements of the
exam (the executive summary and the three detailed requirements).
This is demonstrated in the grade profiles of the two illustrative
scripts.
