The Chinese proverb 'know your enemy and yourself, and you will win every war' underpins RSM China's (RSM) approach to the Chinese accountancy market.

The Big Four dominate the Chinese accountancy market in terms of market share. However, it does not follow that this is their source of competitive advantage. We must approach the issue from both domestic and overseas perspectives. In the international marketplace, the Big Four are well-established with histories extending for hundreds of years. In contrast, the Chinese market is relatively immature and the Big Four, indeed other firms too, do not have such established heritage.
