Finance Bill 2015-16 sets out legislation for tax changes

Following last week’s Summer Budget, the government has published the Finance Bill 2015-16 to implement tax changes announced over the last year including changes to inheritance tax, non-dom rules and provisions to allow HMRC to operate direct recovery of debts from taxpayers

The draft Finance Bill is accompanied by132 pages of explanatory notes and was presented to parliament on 14 July 2015. There was no debate on the Bill at the first reading; the second reading debate is scheduled for 20 July 2015. Following Commons and Lords' debates, it is set to receive Royal Assent when parliament returns after the summer recess.
