The economic outlook might have been bleak, but the sun was shining on CCH’s first ever UK annual conference at the end of May. And while our MPs returned to parliament to hear the Queen’s Speech and confront the debt crisis facing the nation, over 100 delegates from around the UK had gathered at luxury hotel, The Grove, in Hertfordshire – in the illustrious company of the England football team, Kylie Minogue and Ant and Dec, no less – to hear that the prospects for their own profession, fortunately, looked somewhat better.
