Deloitte university for Europe, Middle East and Africa

Deloitte has launched a university in Europe which will provide training resources for the firm's staff and clients, with courses covering market changes and developments in innovation.

Located in Belgium, Deloitte University Europe, the Middle East and Africa (DU EMEA) replicates the firm's US-based Deloitte University which was set up two years ago and has been attended by more than 50,000 Deloitte staff and clients from over 70 countries.

DU EMEA courses will be led by current Deloitte leaders who will share their knowledge and experiences with staff and clients. The curriculum is designed to help develop the next generation of international business leaders and advisers by offering learning which can be applied in the workplace to bring value to business.

David Sproul, senior partner and chief executive of Deloitte UK, said: 'Competition for talent in the coming years will be challenging. DU EMEA will help the organisation attract and retain talent by distinguishing Deloitte from its competitors.'

Deloitte expects around 4,000 people to participate in the DU EMEA curriculum over the coming year, with up to 600 UK employees taking part in 2014. Training programs include sessions organised centrally, locally or online, and the university also houses the Deloitte Client Experience Labs, which provide a semi-permanent environment for clients and staff to collaborate on innovative approaches to address complex business problems.
