Sarah Perrin assesses the impact of the latest financial reporting standards on shareholders and investors.

This May saw the release of three new International Financial Reporting Standards – numbers 10, 11 and 12 on consolidated financial statements, joint arrangements and disclosures of interests in other entities, which aim to tighten off balance sheet activities and improve transparency for investors. With the standards due to come into effect for annual periods beginning on or after 1 January 2013, advisers and analysts are now getting to grips with the small print.
