Cash accounting could become the norm for micro-entities, but is this the best way to report, asks Sarah Perrin

Could the UK’s smallest businesses be applying cash accounting and all reporting to the same year ends in future? These are two of the ideas raised in the August discussion paper, Simpler Reporting for the Smallest Businesses, issued by the Financial Reporting Council and the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills.
