Meaningful disclosure could turn an irrelevant annual report into one that is useful, says Sarah Perrin

Excessively voluminous annual reports are a common cause of complaint, but sometimes more disclosure is better than less. Recent work by the Financial Reporting Lab, set up by the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) to encourage higher quality corporate reporting, reveals the substantial value investors place on disclosures around companies’ net debt.
